Elizabeth Wright is currently the Director of Human Resources at Operation Rebuild Hope. She oversees daily operations and greets community members when they stop by.
Elizabeth grew up mainly on the Oregon Coast, but also all over the world. Elizabeth’s father was in the Army and was stationed in Germany for five years, Missouri for two years and then finally retired and moved back to the Oregon Coast. While Elizabeth was growing up her father did two tours to Afghanistan until he was ultimately injured and medically retired while she was in high school. She witnessed first hand what PTSD looks like and wanted to do everything in her power to help. Her sophomore year of high school she decided to enroll in a homeschooling program in order to be able to take her father to various physical therapy appointments, doctors’ appointments, and balance school. She encouraged her father to push himself during his appointments and tried to help him manage his PTSD and depression. Over the course of a year he was able to go from being in a wheelchair to walking with a cane.
